Fresh Wheat Brownies

Equipment
- Oven
- Baking pan (9" circle, 8" circle, or 9×9" square all work)
- Mixing bowl
- Spatula
- Stand mixer or hand mixer (hard to do this one by hand)
Ingredients
- 1 Stick Butter
- 1 Cup Granulated Sugar
- 2 Each Eggs
- 3/4 Cup Fresh wheat flour (grind yourself or order from a local mill)
- 1/2 Cup Cocoa powder
- 1/2 Cup Chocolate Chips
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 1/2 tsp Vanilla extract
Instructions
- Pre-heat oven to 350°F
- Melt butter on stovetop
- Cream butter and sugar thoroughly on a medium to high speed in a stand mixer or using a hand mixer. This will likely take 2-3 minutes. You want it to be fluffy and light in color.
- Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the butter and sugar mixture. Beat on high until mixture is very light and fluffy. Approximately 1-3 minutes.
- Combine dry ingredients.
- Add butter sugar egg mixture to the dry ingredients. Combine but don't overmix. Add the chocolate chips. Use spatula to scrape into baking dish
- Bake until brownies are undercooked at center, but firm at edge and just cooked 1/2 way from edge to center. This will likely be 12-15 minutes depending on your oven.
